Chateau d'Armailhac

Location:  Chateau d'Armailhac is located in the commune of Pauillac, next to Chateau Mouton-Rothschild . Pauillac is in the Bordeaux region of Southwest France.

Classification:  Fifth Growth

Vineyards: 124 acres of vines.

History:   Baron Philippe de Rothschild bought this estate in 1933. It had belonged to the d'Armailhacq family -- after whom it was named Chateau Mouton d'Armailhacq -- since the 18th century.

Between 1956 and 1989, the chateau was called Chateau Mouton Baron Philippe. In 1989, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild restored its original identity, naming it Chateau d'Armailhac.
